Praying Without Words

Lord, this is one of those days when I want to pray but the words either won't come or they sound hollow and lack authenticity. It seems to me that even prayer falls victim to cliches and phrases that are just part of our Christian vocabulary.

To be honest, Lord, sometimes the words I use to pray seem somehow to negate the value of communion with you. I'm so focused on saying things and expressing myself correctly that I feel I've said words but I haven't prayed.

So, Lord, is it alright with you if I just sit here in your presence? Can I simply enjoy your presence and the peace of your presence without having to find words? I recall somewhere in the Bible it says that the Lord is in His Holy Temple; let all the earth be silent before Him.
