One Father to Another

Father God,   I come to you to share my heart with you, father to Father, about a need my child has that will require your special provision.  You know the details so I don't have to rehearse them to you.   I know that you can meet this need over and above anything I could anticipate; let alone at what might be considered an 'ordinary' level of provision.

I am asking you to provide in an extraordinary manner; in a way that demonstrates your faithfulness and power in an awesome way. This would be such a glorious testimony to your care and love at a time when my child is entering upon a new phase of life.   I have to acknowledge that, in regard to that need, I am a changeable mixture of faith and unbelief.

I feel like the father who brought his son to Jesus and cried out, "I do believe but help me overcome my unbelief!"  This is a need that I can't meet.  Only you can do this.   Even as I offer my prayer, your words come to mind: "If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give good gifts to those who ask Him?"

Thank you for the encouragement that such a promise brings to my heart. You are the God of the 'how much more'. I wait and watch to see your provision for my child. I do believe you, Lord. But should I have moments when unbelief tries to panic my spirit, please help me overcome fear with faith.
