One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray." (Luke 11/1)

Lord, why did only one of your disciples make that request? Was he asking you on behalf of them all? Or was there only one out of twelve who hungered for the kind of intimacy with God that they witnessed when they saw you praying to your Father?

Whatever, I'm glad he asked and I'm glad you responded as you did because I know that what I am about to ask you comes from your own direction to that unnamed disciple.

Abba - dear Father - may your Name be honoured, hallowed, revered, respected, exalted, magnified and glorified in all that I say and think and do.

May your kingdom come into all of my life. Into my values. My priorities. My decisions. My relationships. May your will be done in me. May your rule and authority pervade and prevail every area of my life and every fibre of my being. May seeking first the Kingdom of God prioritize every thought, word and deed today.

May your Kingdom come in ever-increasing fullness and power and glory in my life. In the lives of all your people. In the whole inhabited planet.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever
