Is That You, Lord? (3)

If you have been following my last two log entries, I need to say that I realize some may think that those early morning moments are anything but a good time to receive some "word from the Lord" if, in fact, that was what it was. Some would argue that those 'in between sleeping & waking' moments are a most inappropriate time to hear from God because there is a significant possibility of not hearing God correctly.

I'm sure that God usually utilizes our normal mental processes to communicate some truth or directive to us. But there are other times when He supercedes our minds to speak some truth into our lives that our minds would not be able to receive at that point of one's spiritual journey.   All I can say is that the seed thoughts planted in my spirit in that "not quite awake" period (and keep in mind that this is quite a rare experience for me), have usually proven to be invaluable in the big picture of life.

So, as the Captain of a 747 aircraft (my physical body), hijacked by Mr. Parkinson (the disease of the same name) what am I to do in the face of such a situation?

1. Is there some way that I can immediately turn the tables and attack this hijacker? They say that attack is the best form of defense. Maybe I should resist his power and influence with all that is within me and take him head on.   To apply that to my physical body is to ask if I should take the weapons of prayer, faith, righteousness and boldness and claim victory over him. Some of my colleagues would say this is the only way – if I have enough faith.

2. Perhaps I should wait him out? Just how serious is Mr. Parkinson really? Who knows, he might just lose his nerve and give up his deadly mission. Maybe there will come an opportune moment when he has a change of heart, walks away from the scene and we all get to live happily ever after.   No, that's not an option. He is committed to my destruction and, therefore, to the destruction of all on board. There is no cure for his malevolent intent. If I don't even know how he got on board my aircraft in the first place (i.e. the cause), what chance is there for me to know how to get him off?! (i.e. the cure)

There are still three more possibilities. I'll log these next time.
